Technical Engineer - Fit-Out & Joinery

About the role

The Technical Engineer - Fit-Out is responsible for preparing, reviewing and coordinating technical drawings and submissions for interior fit-out works, ensuring they are accurate, coordinated, approved and buildable so that site execution runs smoothly. The position is based in Dubai and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review shop drawings, coordination drawings and detailed fit-out layouts, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications and authority requirements.
• Prepare and submit material submittals, samples, mock-ups and technical data sheets, and track approvals and comments.
• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, MEP and specialist subcontractors, identify and resolve clashes before construction, and raise and close RFIs.
• Provide technical clarification to site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors and help resolve site technical issues.
• Support compliance with project specifications, codes and quality standards, assist the QA/QC team during inspections, and help prepare as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
• Maintain drawing registers, submittal logs and revision controls, and coordinate with planning and procurement teams to align approvals with the schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in technical coordination for interior fit-out projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Experience with commercial, hospitality, retail, residential and office fit-out projects.
