Technology Engineer

About the role

Emirates NBD is seeking a hands‑on Technology Engineer to join its Group IT Technology Chapter. You will design, build, operate and continuously improve enterprise technology platforms, focusing on Cloudera CDP and related data services in a high‑availability environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and support Cloudera CDP platforms (CDP 7.1.9+ and Data Services 1.5.4/1.5.5).
• Provide Tier 2 production support, including platform maintenance, security enablement, observability and performance optimisation.
• Troubleshoot Spark, Hive and YARN jobs and collaborate with data‑engineering teams to improve job performance.
• Drive automation for security/regulatory checks, patching, infrastructure workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell, Terraform, Groovy, Ansible and preferably Python.
• Support containerisation and management with Podman, Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to product road‑maps, platform backlog execution and technology‑stack decisions.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Cloudera CDP and related data services.
• Proven background in automation, DevOps and platform operations within complex, high‑availability environments.
• Ability to work in a matrix structure, collaborating with platform, product, security, architecture and agile teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for performance tuning and incident resolution.
