Technology Project Lead – Digital Transformation (Energy & Utilities)

About the role

Talan is looking for an experienced Technology Project Lead to drive complex digital transformation programmes for the Energy and Utilities sector in Abu Dhabi. The role will oversee Smart Grid, Operational Technology, Cloud, Data and AI initiatives, ensuring the modernisation of transmission, distribution and enterprise technology environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end digital transformation programmes from initiation through operational handover.
• Deliver Smart Grid, Grid Modernisation, SCADA, ADMS, DERMS and Digital Substation projects.
• Manage Cloud, Data and AI transformation programmes on Azure and/or AWS platforms.
• Establish programme governance, budgets, schedules and executive reporting.
• Coordinate OT/IT integration across operational and enterprise systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, vendors and senior client stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 12+ years delivering technology or digital transformation programmes, with 5+ years in energy, utilities, transmission or distribution.
• Proven experience leading Smart Grid, SCADA, OT/IT or Digital Utility programmes.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and multi‑vendor delivery experience.
