Trainee Engineer – Aviation (UAE National)

About the role

This position is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required for an ATSEP NDP (Trainee) to progress to an ATSEP Engineer. The trainee will support the availability and integrity of Air Traffic Engineering (ATE) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, focusing on Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the operational readiness of ATE/ATM systems under supervision.
• Participate in four structured training phases aligned with ICAO Doc 9868 and Manual 10057.
• Support the interpretation of technical drawings and schematic diagrams for system troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and team members to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

Required profile

• UAE national with a valid UAE driving licence.
• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) and willingness to work in aviation.
• Interest in communications, navigation and surveillance radar systems.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to provide passport copy, IELTS band 5.5 (or EmSAT‑English 1250) and, for male candidates, a military exemption letter.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Technical knowledge of Communications, Navigation, Radar, ATM and other airport systems.
• Computer literacy with the MS Office package.
• Familiarity with Communications, Navigation and Surveillance radar systems.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
