Unit Manager – Labour & Delivery Unit

About the role

The Unit Manager will lead the Labour & Delivery team at Mediclinic Al Jowhara Hospital, ensuring patient‑centric, evidence‑based care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and management guidance to the midwifery/nursing team.
• Ensure evidence‑based patient care practices are followed according to clinical standards.
• Develop employees and create an environment that promotes positive patient experiences and team engagement.
• Manage clinical and non‑clinical resources cost‑effectively to enhance safe patient care.
• Monitor compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards for continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery (essential); Master of Science in Midwifery/Nursing or related field (desired).
• At least 3‑5 years senior midwifery experience in a private hospital (essential); 5‑10 years preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UAE Labour Law.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Understanding of cost management and stock control principles.
• Familiarity with quality management, governance standards and risk management best practices.
• Awareness of UAE healthcare regulatory framework and related requirements.
• Workforce planning and scheduling capabilities.
