Vice President - Operations & Production

About the role

Fabtech International is looking for a Vice President of Operations and Production in Dubai to lead its Operations / Production business unit as a profitable unit. The role ensures that goods and services meet clients' technical and quality specifications, with CRISP (Customer, Results, Integrity, Sustainability and People) as guiding values and Occupational Health and Safety as an overarching value. It also mentors and coaches to build a sustainable succession pool together with Human Resources.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fabrication, assembly, construction, testing and load-out operations and convert awarded projects into successful execution.
• Manage and optimize a workforce of more than 1,500 people, allocating manpower, facilities and equipment across multiple projects.
• Maximize output while keeping safe, sustainable working practices, and drive productivity, earned-hour performance and cost control.
• Work with Production Control and Project Management on realistic schedules, capacity plans and resource forecasts, and on investments that improve throughput.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, TQM, digital monitoring and automation, and oversee inventory control.
• Develop operational leaders and succession plans for Production, Construction and Workshop managers and supervisors.
• Set departmental and individual objectives, run performance appraisals and quarterly feedback sessions, and prepare MIS reports for the COO and the Board.
• Adhere to HSE policies, quality systems such as API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015, and anti-slavery and child-labour policies.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 20 years of experience in a similar industry, with at least 10 years in senior operational leadership.
• Proven experience managing workforces of more than 1,000 people.
• Extensive heavy fabrication, offshore construction, EPC or industrial manufacturing experience.

Required skills

• Structural fabrication, piping, welding, modular construction, heavy lifting and load-out.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, AWS, ABS, DNV and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with ISO, Kaizen, TPM, TQM and GPTW.
• Strong communication, analytical and strategic planning skills.
