Vice Principal Senior School (Jan 2027)

About the role

GEMS World Academy Dubai, a co-educational IB World School offering the PYP, MYP, DP and CP programmes, is looking for an experienced Vice Principal for the Senior School (Grades 9-12) starting in January 2027. Working with the Senior Campus Principal and the wider Senior Leadership Team, the post holder leads the strategic development of the Senior School, with a focus on student wellbeing, pastoral care, behaviour, safeguarding and personal development, alongside school improvement, quality assurance and staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across Grades 9-12, supporting the Academy's vision, values and school improvement priorities.
• Lead pastoral systems, student wellbeing initiatives, behaviour expectations and safeguarding practices.
• Lead, coach and support Assistant Principals, Grade Leaders and pastoral teams.
• Promote student voice, leadership and engagement.
• Monitor attendance, progress and wellbeing, using data to inform decisions and implement interventions.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement, quality assurance, self-evaluation and strategic planning.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) and a relevant bachelor's degree.
• Significant experience in a senior leadership role in a secondary school, ideally as Vice Principal, Assistant Principal or equivalent.
• Proven experience in pastoral leadership, student wellbeing, behaviour management and safeguarding.
• Experience leading school improvement initiatives, staff development and improving student outcomes.
• Experience in an IB curriculum school; knowledge of the MYP and DP frameworks preferred but not essential.
• Availability to start in January 2027.
