Visiting Faculty – Open Rank in Media Communication (2 positions)

About the role

The Department of Media Communication at the American University of Sharjah seeks two full‑time, open‑rank visiting faculty members for the Spring 2027 term. Candidates will join a vibrant academic community delivering undergraduate and graduate programs in media studies, advertising, public relations, and related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Teach three courses during the Spring 2027 semester across the department’s curriculum.
• Develop and deliver course materials that blend theory and practical skills.
• Participate in departmental meetings, student advising, and curriculum development.

Required profile

• Doctoral or equivalent terminal degree in media, communication or a closely related discipline from an accredited, internationally recognized university.
• Demonstrated ability to teach subjects such as advertising, public relations, integrated marketing communication, media production, social media, communication theory, or research methods.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level and, preferably, at the graduate level.
• Strong commitment to educating a culturally diverse student body.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of media communication theory and practice.
• Capability to design and deliver both theory‑based and skills‑based courses.
