Waiter – The Bay (Luxury Hotel)

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira in Dubai is looking for a Waiter/Waitress to join The Bay restaurant. The role involves delivering food and beverage service with the highest standards, ensuring each guest enjoys a memorable experience.

Key responsibilities

• Explain The Bay concept and menu items to guests and provide recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain mise en place for each shift, including cleaning and equipment polishing.
• Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process orders and payments, including gift cards.
• Upsell food, beverage and ancillary services to enhance revenue.
• Ensure dishes are presented according to hotel standards and manage special guest preferences or allergies.
• Maintain and conserve restaurant equipment, stock linen and supplies, and support other outlets as needed.

Required profile

• High school qualification (preferred) or a degree/HND in Hospitality or Business Management.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a waiter/waitress in a high‑volume, luxury hotel or restaurant.
• Ability to work long hours and deliver superior customer service.
• Familiarity with fine‑dining and casual‑dining service procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
• Knowledge of fine‑dining service standards.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
