Waiter/Waitress – Lobby Lounge

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai is seeking a Waiter/Waitress for its Lobby Lounge. You will deliver an exceptional dining experience, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the lounge menu, including light meals, beverages, and signature drinks.
• Take accurate orders, communicate with kitchen and bar staff, and ensure prompt delivery.
• Address special requests or dietary needs, informing management and kitchen colleagues.
• Provide attentive, personalized service and create "wow" moments for guests.
• Upsell services and products to enhance revenue.
• Operate the POS system, process billing, and set up/clear tables according to standards.

Required profile

• High school qualification preferred; hospitality or business degree advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a waiter/waitress, preferably in a high‑volume restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Strong verbal and written English; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of dining service procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with restaurant point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and cashiering procedures.
