Workshop Mechanic – Turbomachinery

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Workshop Mechanic to join our new facility in the KEZAD Free Zone, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on repairing, overhauling and maintaining a wide range of rotating industrial equipment such as compressors and turbines.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, disassemble, repair, align, and reassemble rotating equipment.
• Overhaul rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears and couplings.
• Set up tooling, equipment and fixtures required for each job.
• Measure and record critical clearances using micrometers, calipers, indicators and gauges.
• Interpret engineering drawings, sketches and work scopes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, inspection reports and photo logs.
• Apply lifting, rigging, crane and forklift operations safely.
• Mentor and train junior staff on repair processes and workshop standards.

Required profile

• Senior‑level mechanical experience with rotating equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and clean work environment.
• Effective communication across shift teams.

Required skills

• Micrometers, indicators, calipers and gauges.
• Lifting and rigging, crane and forklift operation.
• Engineering drawing interpretation.
• Precision alignment and measurement of clearances.
• Overhaul of rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears and couplings.
• Tool and equipment setup for mechanical repairs.
• Documentation management (inspection reports, photo logs, hold tags).
