AC & Refrigeration Technician

About the role

The AC & Refrigeration Technician will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure all building utilities are properly managed. This role supports both guest rooms and back‑of‑house areas in a hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and log daily activities for shift handover.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Execute basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, landscaping, and interior/exterior surfaces, including painting, drywall, and wood trim work.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, painting, or hotel engineering preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and navigating stairs.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing troubleshooting.
• Pneumatic/electronic system handling.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and landscaping.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures and basic computer skills for HVAC scheduling.
