A/C Technician

About the role

The A/C Technician will install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems across the Desert Islands Resort & Spa, ensuring a comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on split AC units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, fan coil units, air handling units, exhaust fans and ventilation systems.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and respond promptly to guest and department maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
• Inspect HVAC equipment in guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house, offices, restaurants and kitchens, and maintain filters, coils, drain lines and refrigerant levels.
• Record inspections, maintenance activities, repairs and parts replacement, and coordinate spare parts with the engineering storekeeper.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, manufacturer recommendations, health, safety and environmental standards, including proper refrigerant handling.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Good troubleshooting, diagnostic and communication skills, with a customer‑focused attitude.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

• Refrigerant handling, charging and recovery in line with environmental regulations.
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge related to HVAC equipment.
