A/C Technician

About the role

Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara in Abu Dhabi is hiring a full-time A/C Technician. You will install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems so that all HVAC equipment runs efficiently and safely for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including split units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, fan coil units, air handling units and exhaust fans.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to guest and department maintenance requests and emergency HVAC breakdowns.
• Inspect HVAC systems in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, restaurants and kitchens, and clean indoor and outdoor units, filters, coils and drain lines.
• Check refrigerant levels, locate leaks and recharge or recover refrigerant in line with environmental regulations.
• Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, repairs and part replacements, and coordinate with the Engineering Storekeeper and team for spare parts and tools.
• Report abnormal equipment performance and recommend major repairs or replacements to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Follow local regulations, manufacturer recommendations and health, safety and environmental standards, and support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma from a recognised technical or vocational institute in air conditioning, refrigeration, HVAC or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building or facility management setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and HVAC systems.
• Experience with VRF/VRV systems, AHUs and FCUs is an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, and basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations and refrigerant handling.
• Customer-focused attitude and teamwork skills.
