Accountant - General Ledger

About the role

The General Ledger Accountant will ensure accurate, complete and timely recording of financial transactions across UAE and international entities. The role supports month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing, maintains data integrity and complies with IFRS, internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities for UAE and subsidiary entities.
• Record, process, review and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications and other adjustments with appropriate documentation and approvals.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, trial balance schedules and supporting notes for audit and management review.
• Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
• Liaise with AP, AR, Tax, FP&A, Payroll and Fixed Assets teams to align data and resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with Oracle/ERP system updates, validations and related reporting.
• Support internal and external audits, including ICOFR, by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Contribute to tax compliance documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA or ACCA qualification required.
• 3‑4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, journal entries and month‑end close.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting and audit support.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a finance team.
