Accountant (Trading Industry)

About the role

An experienced Accountant is sought to manage day-to-day accounting for a UAE-based holding group of companies. The role covers accounting records, supporting documentation, reconciliations, period closing and coordination with external auditors and tax advisers. It is a full-time, office-based position in Dubai with a monthly salary of AED 10,000 - 12,000.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, review and organise supporting documents such as contracts, invoices, bank statements and expense records.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for several group companies, recording purchases, sales, payments, receipts, advances, accruals and intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and intercompany balances, and account for transactions in multiple currencies and foreign exchange differences.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on missing documents and discrepancies.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial statements and supporting schedules, and coordinate annual audits and auditor queries.
• Prepare VAT workings and returns and supporting information for Corporate Tax filings, and provide management with regular financial reports.
• Coordinate the handover from the outsourced accounting provider, including data, opening balances, historical records and system access.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including in the UAE.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end closing independently.
• Experience managing accounting for multiple legal entities, preferably within a holding group.
• Good command of written and spoken English; strong attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax requirements.
• Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external audits.
• Strong understanding of multicurrency accounting, intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
