Accounting Executive

About the role

The Accounting Executive will manage and monitor the insurance premium accounting cycle, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation and timely settlement of premiums. The role operates in a technology‑enabled finance environment, using automation tools and data analytics to drive efficiency and compliance with IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Premium Accounting, Reconciliation & Monitoring – record premium receipts, allocate to underwriting accounts, perform cash clearing and resolve discrepancies.
• Bordereaux Review and Validation – review monthly and quarterly bordereaux reports, validate data against underwriting platforms and bank records.
• Technology & Automation – utilise internal digital platforms, support automation of reconciliation processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Compliance and Controls – ensure adherence to IFRS, internal policies, maintain audit documentation and support regulatory reporting.
• Month End Close Support – assist with monthly closing of books, prepare financial statements and management reports.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in insurance, reinsurance, MGA or brokerage.
• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent finance qualification.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment and manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external parties.
