Accounting Manager – Sharia‑Compliant Digital Bank

About the role

As the Accounting Manager at Mal, you will shape the financial backbone of the world’s first Sharia‑compliant digital bank. You will design and oversee accounting processes that meet both international standards and Islamic principles, supporting the company’s mission to provide ethical, transparent financial services worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies that comply with Sharia principles and IFRS.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure timely internal and external reporting, regulatory filings and audit coordination.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new product launches and process improvements.
• Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing accounting team.
• Identify financial risks, strengthen internal controls and drive continuous optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing accounting functions in a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS or other international accounting standards.
• Experience designing and implementing accounting processes, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and alignment with Mal’s mission.
