Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer – Onsite

About the role

The Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer will design, develop, implement and optimise APC applications for petrochemical plants and refinery operations in Ruwais/Abu Dhabi. The role requires hands‑on experience with Aspen, Honeywell and Yokogawa APC platforms and a strong background in chemical engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and optimise APC models, including multivariable predictive control (MPC) on Aspen DMCplus, Honeywell Profit Controller and Yokogawa ExaSMOC.
• Analyse process data to identify opportunities for advanced control strategies, statistical process control (SPC) and multivariate data analysis.
• Integrate APC solutions with DCS, SCADA and PLC systems such as Siemens, Honeywell Experion and Rockwell.
• Lead and participate in PHAs, HAZOP and LOPA risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5–10 years of experience in petrochemical, oil & gas or chemical plant environments.
• Immediate or short‑notice availability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II, PIPESIM and Flarenet.
• Experience using Yokogawa, Honeywell and Emerson control platforms.
• Hands‑on with OSIsoft PI historians and data analytics tools.
• Familiarity with major DCS and PLC systems (Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, Rockwell).
