AI and Data Engineer

About the role

Etihad is hiring a Data Engineer for its Centre of Excellence in Al Ain, within the Finance division. The role supports the development, maintenance and enhancement of enterprise data solutions across airline back-office functions, turning operational and financial data into actionable insights while backing automation, AI-driven initiatives and process improvement. You will work with business stakeholders, process owners, finance teams and technology teams to build scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, dashboards and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate and manage enterprise data, building scalable data models and automated reporting solutions for operational, financial and strategic decisions.
• Protect the integrity, accuracy, security and availability of critical data so management reporting, regulatory compliance and decisions are reliable.
• Build KPI dashboards, real-time monitoring tools and advanced analytics for back-office operations.
• Identify and implement automation through RPA, AI agents, workflow automation and low-code solutions, redesigning finance and administrative processes.
• Drive continuous improvement by finding process inefficiencies, doing root cause analysis and delivering productivity gains and cost savings.
• Support AI-driven solutions, AI agents and knowledge repositories that automate transactions, guide processes and validate data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automation or Digital Transformation.
• Experience in airline, aviation, finance operations, shared services or large enterprises is preferred.
• Certification in Data Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, AI or Automation is desirable.

Required skills

• SQL and database management.
• Power BI, Tableau or similar visualization tools; Python, SQL, Power Query.
• ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
• Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or other cloud data platforms.
• RPA tools such as Power Automate, UiPath or Automation Anywhere.
• Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI and AI agent frameworks.
