AI & Data Engineer - Al Ain

About the role

Etihad Airways is hiring an AI & Data Engineer for its Centre of Excellence in Al Ain. The role supports the development, maintenance and enhancement of enterprise data solutions across airline back-office functions, turning operational and financial data into actionable insights while supporting automation, AI-driven initiatives and process improvement. You will work with business stakeholders, process owners, finance teams and technology teams to build scalable data pipelines, reporting solutions, dashboards and automation capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate and manage enterprise data, building scalable data models and automated reporting solutions for operational, financial and strategic decisions.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, security and availability of business-critical data so management reporting, regulatory compliance and decision-making are reliable.
• Develop and support KPI dashboards, real-time performance monitoring tools and advanced analytics across back-office operations.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities through RPA, AI agents, workflow automation and low-code solutions, redesigning processes in finance and administration.
• Drive continuous improvement by finding process inefficiencies, performing root cause analysis and delivering productivity gains and cost optimization.
• Support the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions, AI agents and knowledge repositories that automate transactional activities and improve data validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automation or Digital Transformation.
• Experience in airline, aviation, finance operations, shared services or large enterprise environments is preferred.
• Certification in Data Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, AI or Automation is desirable.

Required skills

• SQL and database management.
• Power BI, Tableau or equivalent visualization platforms.
• Python, SQL, Power Query or related data engineering tools.
• ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
• Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or other cloud data platforms.
• RPA tools such as Power Automate, UiPath or Automation Anywhere.
• Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI and AI agent frameworks.
