Analyst, Budget & Cost Control (CAPEX)

About the role

ADNOC Gas O&M is hiring an Analyst for its Budget & Cost Control team (CAPEX) in Abu Dhabi on an external contract. The role supports the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and the Five Year Business Plan, monitors spending against budget limits and prepares accruals, monthly payments and financial reports for the Finance & Investment Directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and validate revenue budgets from Planning teams, and receive operating plans from Marketing, Supply & Trading to estimate costs.
• Take part in preparing, coordinating and consolidating the annual and Five Year Revenue, Operating, Manpower, Logistics, Supply & Trading budgets for the Directorate and business line.
• Update budget records with all operating and logistics expenditures and prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, including reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Monitor expenses, highlight variances from approved budgets and report them to the supervisor.
• Follow up SAP and other approved systems so documents received by the Directorate are processed and sent to Finance & Investment.
• Prepare accruals and monthly payments, reconcile with the General Ledger and forward them for cash flow preparation, including checking the trial balance and investigating uncharged expenses.
• Code sales invoices and payments correctly in the ADNOC financial system and ensure payments follow agreements.
• Carry out cost analysis using different accounting codes and document Client Financial Performance Reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• 6 years of experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry in marketing budget, contracts, accounting and financial analysis.

Required skills

• Very good knowledge of relevant accounting software.
