Anesthesia Specialist

About the role

The Anesthesia Specialist works alongside a Consultant Physician to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care within the anesthesia division. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex conditions, managing comprehensive care plans, and supporting the training of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, prescribe medication, and perform anesthesia‑related procedures or surgeries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and consult with other specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with legal, regulatory, and hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
• Provide supervision, instruction, and mentorship to residents, junior doctors, and medical students.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completed residency or fellowship in anesthesia.
• 2–3 years of post‑specialization clinical experience.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility to practice in Abu Dhabi, and a current license from the last country of practice.
• Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
