Arabic Teacher (Female)

About the role

GEMS Education is hiring a female Arabic teacher in Dubai. The teacher delivers the required curriculum, plans and delivers quality lessons and supports students according to their individual needs, within the school's policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required curriculum with accurate, up-to-date knowledge of the subject and plan and deliver lessons that motivate students.
• Create and use appropriate materials and a classroom environment that caters for different learning styles.
• Show written evidence of planning and preparation on request, and keep records of curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources and assessment plans.
• Teach students according to their individual needs, including late-entering students, ESL learners, those with low academic ability and gifted and talented students.
• Set and mark work, assess, record and report on student progress and attainment, and use assessment to meet individual needs.
• Use media and technology in the classroom and promote student well-being and guidance on educational matters.
• Communicate with external parties such as Ministry of Education officials and with parents regularly, keeping their progress informed while respecting confidentiality.
• Take part in appraisal, performance management and continuing professional development, and work with colleagues on teaching materials, resources and pastoral arrangements.
• Lead or take part in co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes, help organise school events, and monitor and manage student behaviour.
• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and perform other duties requested by managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Arabic.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven teaching experience of at least 3 years.
