Architect (Construction Site Experience)

About the role

Stantec is hiring an Architect in Abu Dhabi to oversee design compliance and carry out site inspections for building and mixed-use projects. The role works closely with contractors and engineers to resolve design issues and keep construction aligned with approved drawings, project specifications and UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design compliance and conduct site inspections for building and mixed-use projects.
• Identify and resolve design issues in coordination with contractors, engineers and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, UAE codes and applicable authority regulations.
• Review technical drawings, shop drawings, specifications and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors and engineers to address technical concerns and resolve site-related issues.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to approved designs, quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related engineering discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of MEP experience in building and mixed-use projects.
• Relevant DMT registration and other applicable UAE regulatory registrations and/or certifications.
• Solid construction site experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE codes, authority regulations and applicable construction standards.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, shop drawings, specifications and material submittals.
• Strong problem-solving, technical coordination and communication skills.
