Architect of Record – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Architect of Record to lead the design and approval process for high‑end residential, hospitality, commercial, high‑rise and mixed‑use projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing submissions to local authorities and providing technical support throughout construction.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Architect of Record for a portfolio of high‑end developments.
• Lead and manage all submissions and approvals with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and other Abu Dhabi authorities.
• Ensure compliance with the Abu Dhabi Building Code, planning regulations, accessibility, fire and life‑safety standards.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, landscape, interior design and specialist consultants during design and approval stages.
• Review multidisciplinary design packages before authority submission and respond to review comments.
• Maintain communication with clients, international architects, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during construction and assist with authority inspections and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years as an Architect of Record in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven track record of managing DMT submissions through to building‑permit issuance.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi Building Code and UAE regulations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
