Area Development Manager – Poultry

About the role

The Area Development Manager (Poultry) will lead a sales team responsible for the poultry product portfolio across the assigned region. You will ensure that sales targets, distribution goals, and brand visibility are met while maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve the Sales Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for value and volume in the designated area.
• Execute sales plans and budgets, forecasting promotional activities each month.
• Monitor daily service levels, sales volume, and return performance per route.
• Ensure product visibility and availability according to planograms and shelf share.
• Control wastage across all routes and outlets.
• Collect and reconcile payments from approved credit customers.
• Supervise a team of sales representatives, guaranteeing correct service levels, distribution, and display.
• Order the appropriate product mix to meet outlet standards.
• Implement planograms, brand activations, launches, and trade investment opportunities.
• Monitor proof of performance (POP) at store level and devise promotional strategies.
• Conduct quarterly reviews with each customer and keep sales routes up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising sales representatives and achieving sales targets.
• Strong understanding of the poultry market and distribution channels.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and promotional activities.
• Excellent customer relationship management skills.
