Area Operations Manager - Restaurant

About the role

Careers International is recruiting an Area Operations Manager for a restaurant in Dubai. The role covers overall operations, finance and management, with strong hospitality experience, to protect the company's reputation and ensure high-quality service across its outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate work and schedules, manage rosters and leave, and coach team members so that outlets stay well staffed
• Seek customer feedback and use it to raise service quality
• Establish the restaurant business plan: survey demand, evaluate competitors, prepare financial, marketing and sales projections
• Review product quality, research new vendors and monitor outlet expenses and consumables, keeping them below 2% of monthly sales
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations and control operational costs and waste
• Produce detailed weekly, monthly and annual reports on revenues and expenses
• Appraise staff performance, give feedback and assign tasks to the Restaurant Manager and Supervisor
• Liaise with the marketing team on brand promotions and delivery portals, and promote the brand locally through events and word-of-mouth
• Supervise opening and closing procedures and handle vendor management

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar in fine dining
• Proven customer service experience at manager level
• BSc in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus

Required skills

• F&B knowledge, including remembering ingredients and dishes to advise customers and wait staff
• Familiarity with restaurant management software such as OpenTable and PeachWorks
• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills, and acute financial management skills
