Art Teacher - December 2026 Start

About the role

Aldar Education, a leading education group in the UAE offering schools and educational services from nursery through adult education, is seeking an Art Teacher to join its team in Dubai from December 2026. The teacher will create a stimulating, inclusive environment that nurtures creativity, self-expression and artistic development, while supporting students' academic, social and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons aligned with the British Curriculum and the school's Learning and Teaching and Assessment Policies
• Deliver an inclusive Art curriculum covering a broad range of techniques, media and cultural perspectives, and organise student artwork through displays and exhibitions
• Act as Form Tutor and contribute to pastoral care and student wellbeing
• Maintain accurate assessment records, analyse data to inform planning and differentiation, and give timely feedback to students and parents
• Manage classes effectively, uphold the Behaviour Policy and act as a positive role model
• Contribute to department planning, support school events, exhibitions and extracurricular activities, and lead at least one extra-curricular activity each term
• Keep the art room safe, organised and well-stocked, and take part in professional development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, or in Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Arts or a related field, plus a PGCE, PGDE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Relevant teaching certification in line with ADEK and UAE regulatory requirements
• At least three years of teaching experience in Art within the English National Curriculum (England/Wales)
• Experience across Key Stages, including GCSE and/or A-Level, is desirable; previous experience in an international school is advantageous
• Cultural awareness and appreciation of the values and traditions of the region

Required skills

• Proven experience delivering the UK National Curriculum for Art
• Strong subject knowledge and proficiency in a range of artistic techniques, media and digital creative tools
• Graphic design experience is highly advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
