Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Executive Housekeeper in delivering high‑standard housekeeping services across the hotel. This role ensures rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces meet Sofitel’s brand standards while providing an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping, laundry, and internal communication operations.
• Ensure rooms are prepared, inspected, and turned down according to standards and guest requests.
• Maintain flower decorations, front‑of‑house entrances, and designated back‑of‑house areas.
• Monitor night‑shift cleaning activities and conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas.
• Manage stock levels, approve requisitions, and record inventories of linen, uniforms, and other items.
• Supervise pest‑control services, implement HACCP procedures, and support sustainable energy and waste initiatives.
• Control costs, suggest savings programs, and oversee financial procedures such as Focus.
• Handle lost‑and‑found items, mail packages, and coordinate VIP room inspections.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Engineering, F&B, and Guest Relations to address guest requests.
• Review night‑audit reports related to housekeeping and propose operational improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of experience in hotel housekeeping or related hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills across multiple departments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel management software.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of safe handling and management of cleaning chemicals.
• Understanding of housekeeping best practices and HACCP procedures.
