Assistant Instructor – Architecture & Architectural Engineering

About the role

The Assistant Instructor will support teaching, laboratory, accreditation and administrative activities within the Department of Architecture / Architectural Engineering at Ajman University. The role combines student support, technical assistance and contribution to quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty and students in classrooms, studios and labs, providing guidance on architectural design, CAD and computational design.
• Support course preparation, maintain documentation for quality assurance and accreditation, and help develop teaching materials.
• Operate the Computational Design Laboratory, offering technical support for digital fabrication, software tools and AI‑assisted design.
• Participate in departmental administrative tasks, including student registration, event organization and report preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum two years of professional or practical experience in architecture, architectural engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with capacity to work effectively in an academic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer‑aided design (CAD) and drafting software.
• Experience with computational and digital design software and workflows.
• Practical knowledge of AI tools used for architectural design, visualization and related applications.
