Manager, Training Centre & Academy

About the role

EtihadWE is seeking an experienced Manager for its Training Centre and Academy to lead and continuously improve operational and technical training activities. The role ensures employees and trainees acquire the technical knowledge, practical skills, safety awareness, and competencies needed to perform safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual operational and technical training plans, addressing competency gaps and supporting the Technical Academy strategy.
• Lead the creation of competency‑based training programs, structured learning pathways, and on‑the‑job training (OJT) with assessments and certification.
• Maintain technical competency frameworks, coordinate trainers and assessors, and ensure competency sign‑offs after successful assessments.
• Manage delivery of training, maintain facilities, and support new projects, assets, and technologies.
• Ensure all training complies with HSEQ policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct training needs analysis, monitor effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support national development initiatives and collaborate with external training providers and technical partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Education, Vocational Education, Learning & Development or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in operational/technical training and competency development.
• 3‑5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within utilities, energy, water, manufacturing or similar sectors.
• Proven experience developing competency‑based programs, OJT systems and managing technical trainers.
