About the role
The Assistant Logistics Manager will support RAK Ceramics in managing end‑to‑end import and export operations across its global network. This role focuses on container shipments, bulk vessels, customs clearances, heavy‑lift and high‑value cargo, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of goods.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies for container, bulk vessel, and specialized cargo imports and exports.
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors such as container logistics providers, customs brokers, and port operators.
- Plan and monitor cargo movements to guarantee on‑time arrival, proper customs clearance, and alignment with sales schedules.
- Control and forecast costs related to duties, clearing agents, and logistics services, contributing to budgeting processes.
- Prepare periodic performance reviews and issue resolution reports for management.
- Identify preferred suppliers, enforce service level agreements, and ensure compliance with internal standards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree and an MBA.
- 10–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior logistics or import/export role.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
