Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Aerospace Structure & Design

About the role

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is looking for a full-time faculty member at any level, ranked according to academic achievements. The department wants to build an independent research programme in Aerospace Structure & Design, covering high-performance aerospace hybrid materials, structural systems, multidisciplinary design optimisation, structural health monitoring, lightweight structures, composites and advanced manufacturing. Teaching of undergraduates and graduates is strongly expected.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research programme and publish in top-ranked, refereed journals.
• Build a national and international reputation for the research group.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses, mentor and advise students.
• Use access to advanced laboratory facilities, internal research funding and collaboration with Centers of Excellence.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognised university by the time of appointment or shortly after.
• A research record matching the rank applied for.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is essential.
• Preferred: B.Sc./B.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, industrial and professional experience, and expertise in aerospace structure and design.
