Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Dynamics and Control

About the role

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time faculty position at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in Dynamics and Control. Candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with their academic accomplishments. The department wants someone who can build a reputable, independent research program covering all contemporary areas of dynamics and control, such as collaborative and autonomous robotics, automotive systems and smart mobility, intelligent high-tech systems design, and dynamics and control applications for Industry 4.0.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program and publish in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals.
• Build a national and international reputation for the research program.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop courses for the undergraduate and graduate programs, and mentor students.
• Work with advanced laboratory facilities, internal research funding and collaboration with Centers of Excellence.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter.
• A research record commensurate with the rank applied for.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is essential.
• Preferred: B.Sc./B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, industrial and professional experience, and expertise in dynamics and control.
