Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering

About the role

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a full-time faculty member at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Candidates at all ranks will be considered according to their academic achievements. The department wants someone who can build an independent research program covering contemporary areas such as AI and machine learning, big data analytics in mechanical, aerospace and aviation, stochastic modeling and optimization, applied operations research, production and operations management, and logistics and supply chain management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative, independent research program and publish in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals.
• Build a national and international reputation for the department.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses and mentor students.
• Use access to advanced laboratory facilities, internal research funding and collaboration with Centers of Excellence.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university by the time of appointment or shortly after.
• A research record matching the rank applied for.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is essential.
• B.Sc./B.Eng. or MSc in Mechanical and/or Industrial Engineering, and industrial and professional experience, are preferred.
