Associate, Criminal Practice (Dubai)

About the role

UCL I Dr. Khaled is an international law firm operating in the UAE, Russia, Mauritius, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, advising businesses and private clients across jurisdictions. It is looking for an Associate to join its Criminal practice in the Dubai office and work on complex criminal cases, including economic and white-collar crimes.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in cases at the police investigation, Public Prosecution and court stages
• Analyse evidence, assess criminal law risks and develop defence strategies, including in white-collar cases
• Draft complaints, motions, legal memoranda, appeals and other procedural documents
• Work with the police, Public Prosecution, courts and experts, and communicate directly with clients

Required profile

• Law degree with specialisation in Criminal Law or White Collar Crimes
• 3+ years of experience in UAE criminal law and criminal procedure
• Native Arabic and English B2 or higher
• Experience handling UAE criminal cases at police, prosecution and court stages, including fraud, misappropriation of assets and corporate misconduct

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of UAE criminal legislation and criminal procedure
• Understanding of police, Public Prosecution and criminal court procedures
• Legal drafting of complaints, motions, memoranda and appeals
• Evidence analysis, risk assessment and defence strategy
• Legal research of UAE legislation and case law
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
