Associate Professor – Large Animal Medicine & Surgery

About the role

The Department of Veterinary Medicine seeks a senior academic leader to join as an Associate (or Full) Professor in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. The successful candidate will shape a modern veterinary clinical education ecosystem and drive the development of large‑animal clinical services, training platforms, and translational research.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures, practical sessions, and clinical instruction in large‑animal medicine and surgery.
• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of a veterinary clinical teaching facility at Al Foah University Farm.
• Collaborate on the creation of a comprehensive clinical skills laboratory for large‑animal procedures.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous enhancement of clinical veterinary courses.
• Conduct scholarly research, secure external funding, and publish peer‑reviewed papers.
• Mentor students, supervise senior projects and internships, and provide career guidance.
• Engage with the community, industry partners, and governmental stakeholders to promote large‑animal health.
• Undertake departmental and college administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Established academic record in large‑animal medicine and surgery.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical education and research program development.
• Experience in curriculum design, accreditation support, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Strong commitment to student mentorship and community outreach.
