Associate Vice President - Scrum Master, Everyday Banking

About the role

The Associate Vice President Scrum Master will lead onboarding and everyday banking squads, driving agile delivery and acting as proxy product owner. You will partner closely with the Digital Product Owner to translate strategy into actionable backlog items.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Manage the product backlog, write and refine user stories, and accept work against defined acceptance criteria.
• Act as the number two to the Digital Product Owner, deputising in ceremonies, stakeholder forums and decision‑making.
• Remove impediments, coordinate across business, design, technology and third‑party teams to maintain delivery momentum.
• Track and report squad performance, delivery metrics and product KPIs, highlighting risks and trade‑offs.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience in digital delivery, product ownership or agile roles within large‑scale technology environments.
• Proven experience as a scrum master and proxy product owner, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong ability to engage senior stakeholders, communicate clearly and manage complex, multi‑squad dependencies.
• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant certifications such as PSM, CSPO or SAFe preferred.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Scrum practices, ceremonies and team facilitation.
• Experience writing high‑quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Ability to prioritize backlog items and make product decisions under ambiguity.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑decomposition capabilities.
