Athletics Officer

About the role

The Athletics Officer is responsible for implementing and managing athletics activities and services for the RIT community, aligning with the student experience strategy. This role ensures that fitness centre operations, athletics clubs, and wellbeing programs are delivered efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Fitness Centre and enforce all regulations.
• Develop and deliver fitness and wellbeing programming for students and staff.
• Manage athletics clubs, competitions, and the athletics calendar.
• Purchase, replenish, and maintain athletics equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate sport team transportation, uniform orders, and equipment inventory.
• Support varsity sport training in collaboration with the Varsity Sports Athletics Officer.
• Handle athletics‑related queries and maintain documentation in line with RIT policies.
• Contribute to promotional materials and intra‑university tournaments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a sport‑related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Personal training certification (preferred) and Strength & Conditioning certification (preferred).
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
• Advanced organizational, planning and multi‑tasking abilities.
• Professional representation of the institute.
