Authority Architect

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Authority Architect to lead the authority approvals process for a range of architectural projects across commercial, hospitality, residential and mixed‑use developments in Dubai. You will ensure that all designs meet local regulations and secure the necessary permits from government bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end authority approvals for architectural projects.
• Prepare, review and submit drawings, documents and applications to Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, DEWA, Civil Defence, RTA and other authorities.
• Ensure designs comply with local building codes and authority requirements.
• Liaise with government authorities, clients, consultants and internal design teams to facilitate approvals.
• Track submission statuses, resolve comments and handle approval‑related issues.
• Coordinate revisions and resubmissions based on authority feedback.
• Support project teams during concept, design development and construction documentation stages from an approvals perspective.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UAE building regulations and permitting processes.
• Assist in obtaining NOCs, permits and final completion approvals.
• Prepare authority compliance reports and approval schedules to meet project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of experience within the UAE, preferably with a design consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai authority regulations and approval procedures.
• Proven experience dealing with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, Civil Defence, DEWA and other relevant authorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet submission deadlines.
