Automation Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of automation systems across all operational depots, plants, and terminals. This role combines preventive and corrective maintenance activities with close collaboration with automation specialists, HSE teams, and third‑party vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems, sub‑systems, equipment and installations according to company policies and manufacturer recommendations.
• Support the automation team in standardising systems to achieve flawless operational execution.
• Carry out routine checks, calibrations, and performance evaluations of static and mobile automation assets.
• Coordinate with HSE to ensure fire‑alarm, shutdown and other safety systems meet regulatory requirements.
• Manage breakdowns promptly, liaise with third‑party service providers, and validate completed work.
• Maintain accurate records in the computer‑based maintenance management system and close work orders on time.
• Document vendor agreements, monitor service level agreements, and assist in contract invoice clearance.

Required profile

• Experience in industrial automation maintenance, preferably in a plant or terminal environment.
• Familiarity with HSE procedures and safety protocols for hazardous areas.
• Ability to work with vendors and coordinate service contracts.
• Willingness to provide on‑the‑job training supporting UAE nationalisation initiatives.

Required skills

• Automation systems maintenance (preventive and corrective).
• Calibration of automation hardware and marshalling cabinets.
• Use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Implementation of safety procedures in hazardous environments.
• Vendor coordination and SLA management.
• Basic IT integration knowledge for automation projects.
