B1 Certifying Engineer – Base Maintenance

About the role

The B1 Certifying Engineer will perform, supervise and certify base‑maintenance tasks on Air Arabia and third‑party aircraft under a CAR 66 B1 licence. The role ensures aircraft serviceability, operational reliability and continued airworthiness while complying with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned task cards with the Maintenance Manager to understand work scope, priorities and documentation.
• Prepare and execute scheduled aircraft maintenance, securing required parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Conduct aircraft tests and inspections, record defects or damage according to approved procedures.
• Troubleshoot and rectify defects following Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and engineering instructions.
• Sign off maintenance tasks within the scope of the B1 authorisation, confirming completion of all documentation.
• Coordinate communications with engineers and technicians to ensure seamless hand‑over of work.
• Apply mandatory safety precautions, manage human‑factor aspects and protect personnel during maintenance activities.
• Provide internal customer service and guidance to operational teams and supervise assigned technicians.

Required profile

• Valid CAR 66 B1 licence authorisation.
• Experience in base‑maintenance of commercial aircraft.
• Familiarity with Air Arabia procedures and applicable aviation regulations.
• Ability to supervise, certify and record maintenance activities accurately.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
