Bar Captain

About the role

Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is hiring a Bar Captain, a highly visible guest service position within its bar. The role focuses on promoting and ensuring guest satisfaction through a strong team environment, prompt and courteous service, and the delivery of high-quality food and beverage orders.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the prompt and courteous delivery of all restaurant and room service orders, keeping guest areas clean and maintaining a positive image with every guest interaction.
• During shifts, assist with serving and seating, communicate with the kitchen and speak to all guests to keep them satisfied.
• Open and close shifts according to the manager's checklist and train, maintain and enforce Anantara service standards.
• Execute revenue and check control procedures, manage a safe and sanitary work environment, and run shifts with the right tools (schedules, floor plans, reservations, checks).
• Solve daily problems such as call-outs and last-minute bookings, stay on the floor during meal periods and ensure only quality products are served.
• Maintain uniform standards, run an effective repair and maintenance programme, rotate stations fairly and handle daily associate relations such as scheduling and time adjustments.
• Support new and current associates with training, encourage problem solving, build trust and respect, and apply fair and consistent counselling and disciplinary procedures under the Guarantee of Fair Treatment Policy.
• Identify and recommend incentive programmes, new ideas and improved ways of working.

Required profile

• Able to interact professionally with guests in a highly visible guest service role.
• Above-average communication skills.
