Bell Attendant - Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah

About the role

Hilton is hiring a full-time Bell Attendant for its Waldorf Astoria hotel in Ras Al Khaimah. The role covers luggage handling, guest escorting and reception support, with additional duties depending on the needs of the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve items from cars, buses, vans and carts, and lift, carry and load luggage and packages onto a bell cart
• Navigate the trolley through public areas, corridors and to elevators
• Escort guests to their rooms, inspect rooms visually and point out room features
• Answer guest inquiries accurately, including outlet hours, directions and hotel services
• Organize and store luggage in the storage room
• Greet guests warmly, remain calm and attentive during emergencies, and refer guests to contact points for further information
• Clean and polish buggies, luggage trolleys and other equipment
• Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets and hand them to guests
• Deliver newspapers, mail, packages and faxes to guest rooms, retrieve and enter data from a computer terminal, and answer the bell desk phone
• Liaise with Security, Housekeeping, Engineering, Accounting and Food & Beverage, report lobby maintenance to the Bell Captain/Front Office Manager and follow up on it
• Assist other departments when staff is limited, and park cars if holding a valid driving licence; with a valid UAE licence, drive the hotel limousine with management approval, transporting guests of all Al Hamra companies

Required profile

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to handle internal and external customers with patience, tact and diplomacy
• English reading ability sufficient to read luggage tags and claim checks and to write numbers and names on them
• Ability to lift and carry packages and luggage up to 50 lbs continuously, and to stand, walk and kneel
• Manual dexterity in one hand to load and unload luggage
