Business Unit Finance Manager

About the role

The Business Unit Finance Manager will coordinate and assess the financial activities of the BU finance department, providing timely advice and support to Finance Business Partners and key stakeholders in the transport sector. The role ensures accurate reporting, month‑end closure, and contributes to budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Accounts Receivable & Payable for transport contracts and ensure smooth processing.
• Maintain financial control environment by adhering to policies, PO procedures, signing authority limits, bank mandates and expense guidelines.
• Manage purchase order housekeeping and resolve related issues.
• Train and mentor administrative staff impacting finance.
• Liaise daily with the Shared Service Centre to ensure smooth accounting flow.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Review monthly journals and GL code classifications prior to book closure.
• Oversee intercompany charge management.
• Review and approve client invoices in Maximo where applicable.
• Prepare ad‑hoc cost reports and monthly management reports for each contract, focusing on Dubai Metro departmental details.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements and support FP&A reporting.
• Interact with client organization counterparts and support finance/commercial teams on claims, variations and project proposals.
• Ensure cash‑flow management and debt collection from clients.
• Compile budgets and conduct regular meetings with line managers and BU heads.
