Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will support the business by purchasing goods, services, supplies, inventory and equipment in line with company policies. The role involves managing the full procurement cycle from request to delivery, ensuring cost‑effective and timely acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Send Request for Quotation (RFQ) via fax or email upon receipt of Oracle or email requests.
• Validate quotes, prepare bid analysis comparison sheets, and shortlist vendors.
• Confirm vendor quality, negotiate price reductions and delivery lead times, obtain approval from the Procurement Head, and issue purchase orders.
• Track delivery status, update the system, and communicate with end users and suppliers.
• Coordinate with Finance for payments, invoice submission, and warranty claims.
• Handle item returns, purchase order cancellations with justification, and assist the Procurement In‑Charge in product mix selection.
• Write, place, and monitor purchase orders to ensure specifications, timing, and pricing are met.
• Research new suppliers, recommend additions, and manage scrap item sales.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or purchasing functions.
• Familiarity with Oracle procurement requests.
• Strong negotiation abilities and vendor management skills.
• Ability to work closely with finance and end‑user teams.
