About the role
The Buying Manager will lead the Furniture category for Homecentre, overseeing business planning, merchandising, and vendor relationships to drive sales and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive category business plans to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Prepare annual merchandise plans, monitor gross margins, and manage in‑season stock balancing and markdowns.
- Define design and development specifications, ensure product quality, and manage vendor negotiations.
- Lead a team, set KRAs, conduct performance appraisals, and support recruitment.
- Gather market intelligence, analyze competition, and provide strategic inputs.
Required profile
- Post‑graduate or graduate degree with 10‑15+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 8 years in retail, preferably home‑retail, with proven category management expertise.
