Category Analyst

About the role

The Category Analyst will work at the intersection of data, storytelling and commercial strategy within a fast‑paced consumer‑goods environment focused on health and innovation. You will turn complex syndicated and internal data into clear, actionable insights that influence sales, category management and retailer decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage syndicated data tools such as SPINS, Nielsen and similar platforms to generate insights, dashboards and recommendations supporting sales and category strategy.
• Support ongoing category reporting and partner with leadership on performance analysis to identify risks, trends and growth opportunities.
• Contribute to sales forecasting by analysing historical performance and identifying key growth drivers.
• Provide analytical support for retailer performance reviews, assortment optimisation, promotions and new product launches.
• Translate complex datasets into concise business narratives that highlight actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to clarify business questions, structure analyses and prioritise high‑impact initiatives.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in category management, sales analytics or commercial data analysis, preferably within the CPG industry.
• Strong analytical expertise with the ability to communicate insights clearly and influence business decisions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, data‑rich environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with syndicated data sources such as SPINS and Nielsen.
