Category Head - Fresh Food

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Category Head to lead Fresh Food categories across a multi‑store retail environment. The role drives sales, profitability and customer satisfaction through strategic assortment, pricing and promotional planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive Fresh Food category strategies to maximize sales and margin.
• Manage product assortments, pricing, promotions and visual merchandising aligned with market trends.
• Optimize shelf layouts and product displays to enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct comparative analysis across store formats to identify growth and efficiency opportunities.
• Oversee gross margin management, line planning, rebates, budgeting and new product development.
• Lead the Category Team, set KPIs and ensure product quality and availability.
• Analyze consumer behavior, competitor activity and market performance to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with operations, marketing, supply chain and other stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Monitor performance against budgets and implement corrective actions.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives while maintaining financial performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Fresh Food Category Management.
• At least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Professional certifications in Category Management (preferred).
• Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
